Fresh Mountain Air A skiing holiday memory
An experienced skier, a confident claim about mountain air—and a hangover that had other ideas.
Fresh Mountain Air
Now there’s one holiday moment I find really funny
The sky was blue, the day was dry and sunnyIt was a group skiing holiday and our first time on the slopes
Mr T, an experienced skier would show us the ropesHe kept making the point that hangovers were rare
This was because of the fresh mountain airWe arrived on resort mid-afternoon and sorted out the gear
Remembering his words we all hit the bar without fearThe night went on and as the drinks flowed
We had a few more, then one for the roadBreakfast was met with the odd heavy head
We’d been up all night, then rather late to bedFret no more, thinking of this fresh mountain air
On the slopes, with shades on, to deal with the glareMr T was first on the lift, and we gave him some stick
Fresh mountain air we all yelled as he lent over the side and was sickThis had never happened before, perhaps a fluke
Fresh Mountain air was the call again as we watched him pukeThe heckling continued, that fresh mountain air
— Paul Dennison, The Daft, Silly & The Rest
We like to remind him now an again, it’s only fair
